Augustus Caesar Velez
Greetings
My name is Augustus Caesar Velez and I was born in the asphalt jungle of New York City.
I started drinking and using drugs at an early age. By the grace of God and the Samaritan Recovery Center I've just celebrated five years sober and drug free.
I shot heroin at 13 by the time, I was 14, I was not only hooked but one of the dealers in my hood.
A violent life of crime as my role models were in the mafia. I boke into homes almost on a daily basis to support my habit. My father saw the need to leave N.Y. and went to Asheboro N.C.
I kicked cold turkey {no doctors or medication} my father locked me in a room and nailed the windows shut. However shortly after I was back at it transporting heroin and cocaine to N.C. and Hallucigenics from N.C. to N.Y. At 19 went to prison and during the coarse of my life have been incarcerated over ten years and faced a life sentence twice.
I was secretary in the syndicate of the RioPiedras state penn in Puerto Rico where men were executed by said syndicate. I was asked to step down from my position as I was due for parole and many men were to die. I was paroled Dec 22 1984 and on Feb 15th the headlines read New St Valentines Day Massacre, 11 men were killed in one night. I carried that guilt many years, but had I said something, I would have been killed also.
My biggest guilt I carried was the death of my child while intoxicated. The only thing more sad than burying a child is going to his funeral in shacklles and handcuffs for I would soon be tried for his death.
In Feb. of 2004 I nailed all my guilt to the cross at christian retreat Music City Tres Dias of which now I serve as the secretariat. I am also on the board of directors of Welcome Home Ministries for recovering alcoholics and drug addicts.
My father in heaven did not give up on me as my friends and some family did.
Since giving my life to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ my passion has taken me to the other side of the world to Kiev, Ukraine on the great commision. I burn with a fervant fire in my soul to reach a lost and dying world so I am taking my lifes testimony to churches, prisons, recovery centers and where ever else I'm called.
My up coming auto-biography will be for the Glory of God and for his service my finance and my life.
Jesus hung and died on a tree that God watered and grew. His son died so that we might live.
My son died so that I would lead others to Christ.
